Brushford - Nave North Wall - Luard Window - Detail 1
The village of Brushford, Somerset, lies just over one mile south of Dulverton.
The parish church of Saint Nicholas as seen today probably dates from the 13th century, although the Norman font hints at an earlier foundation.
The church has a number of stained glass windows. This photograph shows part of a window in the north wall of the church dedicated to the memory of a young member of the Luard family who died in 1891. The window was made by Morris and Co. using designs, or cartoons, by Edward Burne-Jones. It shows the figure representing Humility.
