St James Taunton - North Aisle Window 1

The church of St James is a fine parish church in the middle of Taunton, Somerset. I recently visited the church while waiting for work to be done on my car nearby. On entering the church I was disappointed to find that the interior of the church was dominated by a projection screen hung across the chancel arch. I was also disappointed to find that I could not photograph the West window as a glazed screen had been erected across the tower arch. However I was able to photograph another eleven stained glass windows that can be found in the church. I was also able to photograph the font which Pevsner describes as ‘one of the most adorned of 15th century fonts in the county’.

This picture shows one of the two stained glass windows in the North aisle of the church. The window dates from circa 1913 but I was unable to identify the maker. The three figures in the window, from the left, represent King David, Moses and King Solomon.
