Well, some good news amidst all the gloom and doom, Spring arrives at the end of this week (in the Northern Hemisphere).

This was the glorious site at the weekend in the gardens at Wallington Hall, Northumberland.

The National Property remained open to visitors, but for how much longer, who knows.

the brilliant carpet of purple crocuses is an annual crowd-puller and in the sunshine, it looks quite spectacular.
