Comet Neowise over Vermont Covered Bridge
This is the comet Neowise over a farm covered bridge in Cabot, Vermont. The comet has two tails, the larger white dust tail, as well as a narrower blue ion tail made up of electrically charged particles.
Comet Neowise was first discovered by astronomers in March 2020 and was visible from Earth for a two-week period in July of that year. The closest it ever came to Earth was 64 million miles. It won't be back for another 6800 years.
