I have included all of the software/hardware and different cameras, lenses, and tools that I use for photography in the About Me section. It also includes some awesome websites that will help you find great places to shoot.
Currently I am putting together a set of 50 great photography destinations in the Pacific Northwest. All locations are geo-tagged, so you can check them out yourself-----> PACNW Top 50
The Shot
Man the Palouse is awesome, the light that this place displays on any given morning is really intense, and you are almost guaranteed to get some good shots. Prepare for a swarm of people to be at the top as well. I always sleep on an air mattress in the back of my car at the very bottom right next to the gate. This allows me to wake up and make it to the top before anyone else.
This particular morning was amazing, light in all directions, I was running around like a mad man for an hour getting a bunch of fun shots.
TIPS: Post Processing
As you may have noticed in lieu of tips, sometimes I just have a discussion off the top of my head. As an engineer I over analyze everything, along with life in general. So my brain never stops going full speed. Sometimes it sucks, sometimes its all good. Anyways, when it comes to post processing, I really enjoy pushing the limits sometimes. I just don't always publish the shots on Flickr. I have the most fun when I can just sit at my computer, blast some electronic music and let the art flow. After 3-4 hour and 2-3 pictures I normally have some stuff that I feel is awesome, and want to share with the world right away. I have to force myself not to share it. In the back of my head I know there will be small touch ups to make in the next 24 hours. Normally revisiting your work a day latter will help you improve it dramatically.
I've decided to start sharing a picture a day on Flickr from now on to force myself to process more pics and become a better photographer. This comes with my decision to travel to a new country of the world every three months, from now until my around the world trip starts in 2015. Lots of fun to come…. Can not wait to share it:)
Enjoy….
