º Dandelion 2 Green-toned Cyanotype

A really pleasing result, as good in my view as the Argyrotype version I made earlier this year.

 

Original in-camera film exposure and development:

 

8th May 2022, mid-afternoon

Chamonix 810V, Rodenstock APO-Sironar S 240mm f/5.6

Ilford FP4+ 10x8 @ 125

560mm bellows

2” f/5.6

 

510-Pyro 5:500, 10' 20ºC, Stearman SP810 tray

3x 30” tap water wash/stop

4min fix in Ilford Rapid Fixer (currently out of Alkaline fixer; may reinstitute 1min sodium sulphite hypoclear)

wash: 10 fill/dump 1l tap water, 10 agitations per litre

Ilfotol rinse

 

Cyanotype Print:

Exposure and Development 25th September 2022

Hahnemühle Platinum Rag 11x15” Paper

2ml+2ml (overkill but good depth of coating) 10% original cyanotype mix, prepared earlier that day (couldn’t be bothered to wait 24hrs!)

Paper dried 2hrs 15mins

24mins UV lamp exposure

2’30” citric acid bath (1.5l warm tap water + ¾ tsp citric acid crystals, print face up)

2x 5 mins wash face down, 1.5l warm tap water

10mins final soak in tap water

Dried 24hrs

 

Green Tone 26th September 2022

Fenugreek seeds infused in 1.5l boiling distilled water, print toned face down in strained mix 1hr to taste

Dried 24 hrs

 

Digitized with Nikon D800E/85PC-E, stitch of three frames.
