We made the difficult choice to put Panther to sleep tonight. He left us at 6:30 pm on August 26, 2005. He will be remembered dearly. Here he's waiting with me in the waiting room. It was difficult to listen to him meow. The vet said even if we were to do what we could this weekend to sustain him and diagnose him further (we're pretty sure it's kidney failure in addition to kidney disease) there was maybe 50% chance at best. After talking and crying we finally decided that he should be put to sleep, not to give up on him, but to put him out of his misery. When they brought him in to say good bye he was in such pain it seemed, struggling to stay alive, that we knew we made the best decision we were able. May he rest in Peace. May he be in a better place.
