House of Commons Blended Scotch Whisky

I acquired this at a charity function a while ago and I really don't know much about it.

I'm in a quandary. I've got a cold and I want to mix some Scotch with some freshly squeezed lemon juice and a spoonful of honey and some hot water.

I can see from the box that it is matured, selected and blended by Gordon & McPhail of Elgin, Scotland. I've tried a web search and can find very little about it. I'm not even sure how much it is worth (I know what it is worth to me right at this minute, though!).

Is it scandalous to make a "hot toddy" with this? I did however do a search for "hot toddy" and apparently, the American Lung Association recommends NOT treating the common cold with alcoholic beverages. Many thanks for that. Luckily I'm just downing a bottle of real ale but that isn't supposed to be curing anything, so thats OK.

At the end of the day it is "just" a blend but I wouldn't mind knowing a bit more about it before I unleash the cork (if it has a cork).

But I could do with finding out pretty quickly.
