Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year 2012 Chinatown Manchester. I am looking forward to the Chinese New Year 2024 celebrations.
I've been getting a few views recently on my two "Manchester Town Hall with the red Chinese lanterns outside" shots, mainly via Google Images.
I was walking through Chinatown again the other day and was amazed to see the lighting. The sun was in the distance (obviously!) and lit up the lanterns towards the back of the shot. It was also reflecting off a glass building which lit up the front of the Chinese Arch.
As a Mancunian, I was absolutely delighted to be asked by Visit Manchester the official tourism body for the area, to use this in their magazine Mcr10 in October 2012. If you are interested in seeing the magazine itself and the article about Chinatown, it can be viewed on issuu.com
In October 2015,Chinese president Xi Jinping visited Manchester.
