Fiddlers Ferry - (partly) gone but not forgotten
Boom. And then they were gone! Someone said that the demolition of the Fiddlers Ferry towers took around four seconds and 2700 explosives, but I don't know how true that is. Put it this way, it didn't take long. And there was quite a big bang!
In some ways it was a shame that the power station was surrounded in mist as it would have been an even more spectacular sight.
I'm pleased i took a "before" shot here a few weeks ago. There isn't much point taking an "after" though, as there is not much to see!
There are quite a few videos on YouTube of the towers coming down. One video from "Adventures Await: Exploring With JB" shows some footage from the air.
I'm always amazed how easy it was to see the Power Station on the horizon from many, many miles away.
