tin tabernacle revisited - front view

back in 2016 I was doing a bit of web surfing and saw an article in a local newpaper about an "urban explorer" who had got inside an abandoned Tin Tabernacle and taken some spooky pics. The newspaper piece went on to suggest that the place was on its last legs and maybe about to collapse. I thought it looked pretty interesting and decided to go for a mooch.

I liked the old place and it set me off on a bit of a mission to find a few more of these great old corrugated buildings which are, or were, still standing. I started a Corrugated album on Flickr to put them in. About 130 photos later we (me, Mrs K and the dog) decided to go for a revisit earlier today. Sadly the porch which was still there in 2016 has completely collapsed now.

Later in the morning I was taking some shots from the distance and a very nice old chap (with hindsight, he was probably the same age as I am lol) came up and started talking and he was saying that the plot has now been sold and he mentioned an amount that the buyer paid for it. I checked later and The Oldham Times reported that it sold at auction for more than £170,000

Given the location, we were both bewildered about what is going to happen here, because it seems odd that the land is going to be used for anything significant, mainly due to the access - or lack of it, I should say.

So for now its in my "Revisited" album and I will keep checking back to see what happens there.
