Was (Not Was) - Are You Okay

Over the past few weeks I've really got back into this album again. Its certainly in my Top 5 albums of all time, but its a real curiosity. In these days of digital stuff, as far as I can tell it has never been available on CD in the UK as a complete album - or on any of the streaming platforms as a complete album. I looked on iTunes the other day and a few of the tracks seem to be available separately as re-recordings and/or remixes. (I'm happy to be corrected on this info by the way, if I'm wrong). So out came the vinyl and the volume cranked right up. This used to be one of the albums Mrs K and I used to wash up the 'dishes' to, before the kids (and the dishwasher!) came along. They had some great guest singers on their records from time to time - Leonard Cohen, Iggy Pop, Kim Basinger, Ozzy Osbourne, Frank Sinatra Junior and more.

Don and David Was were hot shot record producers. Don Was has produced (amongst lots of others) The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Ziggy Marley, The B52s, Carly Simon, Michael McDonald, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Bob Seger, Michelle Shocked, Ringo Starr, Glenn Frey, Roy Orbison, Willie Nelson, David Crosby, Jackson Browne, Waylon Jennings, The Highwaymen, Joe Cocker, Richie Sambora, Garth Brooks, The Chieftains, Kris Kristofferson and Van Morrison, to name a few, but seriously the list goes on....and on.

If you've never heard of them and fancy checking some of the stuff out, a good place to start is on YouTube and the wasnotwasVEVO channel - How The Heart Behaves. Hmmm I might just go and put it on again.
