Southport

The pier at Southport. Was (or still is) the longest in England.

 

I've got a Flickr album called "Its got water in it somewhere). Never a truer statement as far as this shot is concerned. If you look very closely you can see the sea - just!

 

This was taken in July 2022 just before it closed down due to serious safety concerns. The estimated costs for repair are believed to be circa £10m and as far as I understand it, there is no confirmed date for reopening.
