Ford Cortina
Ford Cortina Lake District 1983
One from the Kpcv Family Archives, just "re" discovered.
The family Ford Cortina - I'm guessing this was 1983 in the English Lake District. There is some snow on the "tops".
The car (with my folks in it) was involved in an horrific accident and it was "written off" by the insurance company and according to the DVLA website this morning, the Road Fund Licence ran out in 1984. Luckily they both survived but I can still remember my Dads reaction when we went down to see the wreckage. He wasn't one for using VERY rude words, wasn't my Dad, but one crept out when he saw how lucky they had been. My recollection is that the passenger compartment was probably just over half the usual width. This is before N CAP safety features and airbags of course.
The rear of the shot shows a little drawing of the location with the words - left to right - Crinkle Crags, The Band, Bowfell, Rossett Crag - 35mm Zuiko Fuji II
What it doesn't say is "scanned on with my Canon printer and enhanced on Photoshop" - who would have guessed back then, what is possible now?
