My great auntie
I found this at my Dads and thought it was a great photo. It also made me think about the old days when things were a lot simpler. We used to have a fab time together even though when I went round to her house there was only a little black and white TV for electronic "entertainment" - no Wii, X-box, playstation or the like. But there was a drawing pad and some crayons and a pack of cards, which was enough.
We used to go to the park and the big treat was two pieces of Soreen malt loaf stuck together with butter and wrapped in greaseproof paper which we used to call "lunch" for some reason, even though it was after school.
Whenever she looking after me she always used to come round with a few "whist pies" and a pack of cards and we'd watch The Good Old Days and Brian Rix farces on the telly and stuff.
Auntie used to walk everywhere, miles, even late into the night, because you could back then.
I found her long service certificate too, she worked this loom for the best part of fifty years in deafening conditions.
Great memories of a great lady.
