Tin Tabernacle

A few weeks ago we stumbled across an abandoned church made out of corrugated tin. The place was fascinating to me as it was rusty, covered in moss, had peeling paint, rotting wood and walls that were "all shapes".

My Flickr contact Latium www.flickr.com/photos/latium/ was kind enough to send me a link to a Wikipedia page about Tin Tabernacles as they are known.

What I hadn't realised is that I have driven within a few metres of one in Manchester, many times, over the years.

St Antony's Church, Trafford Village is part of a Centre and isn't used on a regular basis these days but it was great to see it in such good condition www.stantonyscentre.org.uk/heritage/the-tin-tabernacle.php

I seem to be coming across a few disused corrugated structures recently, for some reason.
