Ha I just found this old ceramic bedroom door plaque from when I was a kid.....which was probably the last time I actually got called David ;-)

 

I'm guessing the driver is supposed to be Jackie Stewart due to the tartan band around the crash helmet. Dunno whether he drove a Matra or not.

 

My kids are looking at this going "Awwwwwwwwwww...."

 

I might even pop it on the bedroom door later. I'm sure Mrs K will be delighted.

Maybe this is where my love affair with dodgy signs began. Who would have thought back then that I would be posting a photo of this on the internet (Er....whats an internet) in my Flickr "Signs That I Like" set??

 

Update as per comment from Andy (ndsci) in the comments box below "Early results from some internet searching: these plaques were apparently made in England by Purbeck Ceramics"

 

Sad update - the sign snapped in half. The end of an era.
