Viaduct on a high tide (in Explore).

Hoping for reflections on a high tide, I took to the river today. Not much of a sky but the Viaduct looked striking. The structure has 13 arches in total and stands 120 feet high, it was originally built to service the Whitby to Scarborough railway. This stretch of the River Esk is tidal and used by many boats. There is a weir about half a mile upstream which ends the tidal section. At just 28 miles in length the Esk is a short river but very beautiful in places. It reaches the sea about a mile downstream in Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast

It's always flattering to feature in Explore. Thanks for looking, for your kind comments and favourites.
