Wastwater Scree.
The setting sun lit up the scree on the far shore, in a high contrast scene. Once voted "Britain's favourite view", Wastwater is 3 miles long, half a mile wide and at 258 feet, the deepest of the district's Lakes. Surrounded by some of England's tallest peaks [including Scafell Pike, at 3290 feet, the biggest in the country, the area is very beautiful and I long to go back.
