My Saturday was AWESOME!
My day started off great with breakfast at a diner. What made that even more super excellent is that I met a couple fellow bikers there, then rode over to an advanced riding class.
I took Ride Like A Pro. It taught us slow speed maneuvers, which are the hardest. Any fool can go straight on a motorcycle, but doing a U-turn on a narrow 2-lane road or a parking lot is dicey. By the time the class was over, I could do a consistent 360 degree turn inside 20'. I did a figure 8 inside 24' (a two-lane road).
The key to getting even better (goal: a u-turn inside 18') is practice. So, I made "cones". The tennis balls are stable, visible, and I can ride over them without any damage.
Oh yeah, we saw Star Trek and had fajitas for dinner. See? Awesomeness!
Strobist info: 430EX camera left of me, fired straight up @ 1/16 power using cheap ebay remotes. The flash head is covered with a homemade mylar origami diffuser soften the light.
