Play Time!

We have a serious problem with our new house: the front door doesn't close. Not completely, it doesn't latch. We discovered this today when the door blew open. Literally.

 

No problem, said Jamie and I, we'll just deadbolt it.

 

Problem is, the kids were unaware of the problem -plus- they didn't know our cats would be in trouble if they got out. They don't know the neighborhood and have barely accepted that this is home.

 

I took some photos of the cats, and then they left the room. A few minutes later, Jamie called out that the front door was open... did I know where the cats were?

 

She panicked at my reaction. I sprang up and headed for the door. She ran outside and started calling for Shadow, because Shadow tends to respond.

 

We were lucky. I had a flashlight and quickly found Casper's eyes in the reflection. When Jamie moved toward him, Shadow materialized and ran inside. Casper sprinted to follow.

 

Whew!

 

So then, to add a sense of normalcy, I switched the flashlight over to laser pointer mode and played with Casper. That's when I captured him swatting the light. Silly cat. Lovely cat.

 

For FGR and Hands, Claws and All Kinds of Paws. I have a hand and a paw in this one. :)
