Eastleigh Visitor

Just a shot for the record - July 1966. The “V2”, 60919 had been brought down from Dundee to work the ‘Green Arrow’ rail tour from Waterloo, but was failed at Nine Elms.

I read that it ran light engine to Eastleigh depot, (where I took this photograph) in the hope that it could work the return leg, but it wasn’t to happen. Sadly, the head code discs “SPL 1” were just a proud boast.
