“I'm looking for the unexpected. I'm looking for things I've never seen before”
I like that quote from Robert Mapplethorpe. Sometimes I think I'm spending too long trying to dissect a shot from every angle but it's all worthwhile when the unexpected appears.
The Bridge of Aspiration connects the Royal Opera House to the Royal Ballet School in London's Covent Garden and is nicknamed 'the twisted concertina' because of its distinctive form. It's the perfect example of a structure that takes on a whole new being depending on your perspective. I had never seen it until a few months ago; now I can't get enough of it.
I discovered recently that my newest contact and friend on Flickr, toomanytribbles, likes this bridge too so this one is dedicated to her. Please visit her photostream if you have a moment - you'll enjoy what you see, like this one, my favourite.
