57 is a DAF DB250 East Lancs Myllennium Lowlander which was purchased new by Ipswich Buses in 2002. It was the first amongst 6 Lowlanders to be delivered for Park & Ride duties in an all purple livery. 57 finished its service for Park & Ride and entered regular town services receiving the battenburg livery when first released. This Lowlander was named ‘Alaric’ after a barge. 57 is powered by a 9.2 litre DAF Paccar engine coupled with Voith DIWA gearbox.
