UK - London - Canary Wharf - Five minute break sq

I didn't spend too long wandering around Canary Wharf when I visited back in May as the weather by this point had turned less than Summery (and stayed that way ever since it would seem). I think this is by far the best shot I took there and an observation on how smoking has become so socially unacceptable everyone has to stand in their own little cubicle.
Another for my 'Best of 2012' set I think : www.flickr.com/photos/darrellg/sets/72157629086259368
One of two of my images shortlisted for the Architects Eye 2013 photographic competition : www.architectseye.co.uk/
Results to be announced on 12/06/13...... Update : Very pleased to find out I won the 'Architecture and People' category with this image.
From the Building Design article, Judge and architectural photographer Quintin Lake said: “The winning image stood out immediately for its combination of strong geometry and contemporary authenticity, captured at just the right moment. The use of primarily monochrome colour has been used to advantage by the photographer to focus our attention on the hands and faces. The exile of smokers from their place of work are one of few private moments we see publicly on the street today: a strange piece of modern theatre beautifully captured in this image.”
For those interested in the story behind the image you can find out more in a short interview I did for a Spanish blog here : translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n...
24/06/14 : The latest news for this image is it's been shortlisted for the 'Environmental Photographer of the Year 2014'. The Exhibition will be showing at the Royal Geographical Society in London for the next few weeks.
