One of the Ox sculptures from the Ox Trail 2024, this one was photographed at the entrance to University Park.
Apparently the auction which took place at the end of the exhibition raised over £150,000 for Sobell House Hospice.
This was taken during an Oxford Flickr Group photowalk back in July. For anyone in the area you might be interested to know that our next photowalk is today, Sunday 15th September. This is a joint event with the London Flickr Group as it's the annual 'Open Doors' weekend and lots of building which aren't usually open to the public will be. We're meeting at the Gloucester Green Bus station at midday and anyone is welcome to join us for the afternoon. More details here www.flickr.com/groups/oxford-uk/discuss/72157721921600920/

From oxtrail2024.co.uk/art-trail/ , "OxTrail is a fun and family-friendly sculpture trail of 138 large and small oxen, which are on display across Oxfordshire from 6th July until 29th August. The large oxen are all located within Oxford’s city centre, while the mini oxen are dotted across the city and the rest of the county. OxTrail is raising vital funds for Sobell House Hospice, the charity behind the trail!
Every ox sculpture is unique; the large oxen have been designed by artists, while the mini oxen have been decorated by schools, community groups, local media, and a handful by the Sobell House Hospice team.
Many of the sculptures are sponsored and it’s been an incredible example of community spirit and kindness towards Sobell House to bring OxTrail to you this summer."
