UK - London Flickr Group Photowalk 07 - Lowline 15 - Signs of the times_5007911

Vinegar Yard on St Thomas Street proved to be an interesting little diversion whilst exploring the Lowline recently during a London Flickr Group Photowalk.

Being the weekend the Flea Market was in operation and it seemed a bit more interesting than your average market. Initially it was this stalls antique cameras that caught my eye but then saw these vintage signs. I didn't even check the prices as presumably their target market was 'Hipster with more money than sense' but I did manage to record this little bit of history.

Starting in Bermondsey we followed the Lowline westwards through newly regenerated parts of South London before finishing at Southwark. A bit off the beaten track but all the more interesting for it....... More info here it you're not familiar with the relatively new walking route : www.lowline.london/

If this sounds like the kind of thing that might interest you then I'd suggest you join the London Flickr Group and keep an eye out for future announcements. The next one will probably be some time in February : www.flickr.com/groups/londonflickrgroup

From www.vinegaryard.london/ , "Located right next to London Bridge Station, Vinegar Yard is an eclectic mix of drinks, food, flea market, and art. In summer, socialise in the sun in our huge outside venue; in winter, we go undercover with huge tents and some outdoor heating, or book a table in one of our two indoor bars. Alongside our extensive drinks menu, our food traders offer a great choice for every taste, daily. The infamous flea market operates on weekends, and art from Joe Rush can be seen throughout the venue."
