The 12 Bank Street building in the foreground and the Horden Cherry Lee designed Newfoundland residential tower in the background.

For years it seemed like the development of Canary Wharf had stood still, presumably a result of the 2008 banking crisis. When I visited the area a couple of years ago it was apparent that construction had resumed and as a result there's now a new batch of shiny new buildings to photograph.

As a result I've chosen Canary Wharf as the start point for the upcoming London Flickr Group Photowalk on Sunday 8th, May. More info here if that's sound like it would be something you're intersted in taking part in : www.flickr.com/groups/londonflickrgroup/discuss/721577219...

From the Dezeen website, "Architecture studio Horden Cherry Lee has designed the Newfoundland residential skyscraper with a diamond-shaped exoskeleton in London's Canary Wharf district.

Horden Cherry Lee designed the 225-metre tall skyscraper to take advantage of its prominent location on the banks of the river Thames and at the end of Middle Dock, directly opposite the main entrance to the Foster + Partners-designed Canary Wharf Underground station."
