Italy - Turin - Caffe Torino 02_DSC4463

I knew from the guidebooks that the Caffe Torino on the beautiful Piazza San Carlo was famous but it didn't look much different to many other cafes on other squares. I did like the neon Martini sign though.......

Translated from their website : "Caffè Torino is a true masterpiece, loved by men of culture and politics: from Cesare Pavese to Macario, from Einaudi to De Gasperi, there are many famous people who loved to spend the afternoons here, in this coffee born almost as a bet in 1903 , in a square where there were already other important historic cafes. Bet won: Caffè Torino has now passed the century of life, and over the years has gained international fame, attracting also numerous foreign stars, from James Stewart to Ava Gardner, up to Brigitte Bardot."
