UK - Birmingham - Library of Birmingham 20_sq flipped_DSC4011
A 'flipped' version of my previous upload. I've taken one part of the image and 'flipped' it about the X & Y axis to achieve a more graphical result.
You can see more of these kind of shots here : www.flickr.com/photos/darrellg/albums/72157627889661743 and if you have any of your own they'd be welcome at the group I started : www.flickr.com/groups/flippingphotos/
I had been hoping for more 'blue sky' shots such as this one of the Library of Birmingham during my recent visit but the weather had a different idea. The sun only appeared for a short while but I did manage to get some new shots such as this one looking straight up between the exterior 'rings' and the glazing.
From Wikipedia : "The Library of Birmingham is a public library in Birmingham, England. It is situated on the west side of the city centre at Centenary Square, beside the Birmingham Rep (to which it connects, and with which it shares some facilities) and Baskerville House. Upon opening on 3 September 2013, it replaced Birmingham Central Library. The library, which is estimated to have cost £188.8 million, is viewed by the Birmingham City Council as a flagship project for the city's redevelopment. It has been described as the largest public library in the United Kingdom, the largest public cultural space in Europe, and the largest regional library in Europe. 2,414,860 million visitors came to the library in 2014 making it the 10th most popular visitor attraction in the UK."
