Italy - Florence - Basilica of Santa Croce facade_sepia_DSC8905

The ornately decorated front facade of the Basilica Santa Croce in Florence.

I've not used this high contrast mono post-production for many of my Florence shots, surprising as I think it suits them. Maybe I'll I'll have to revisit some of my uploaded shots to produce mono versions.......

From Wikipedia : "the Basilica of Santa Croce, the principal Franciscan church in the city, which is situated on the Piazza di Santa Croce, about 800 metres south east of the Duomo, and is the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, Foscolo, Gentile, Rossini, and Marconi, thus it is known also as the Temple of the Italian Glories (Tempio dell'Itale Glorie)"
