Pinegate Apts, Summer 1986, 9
In 1985, the long-standing KC developers & construction firm, Hickock-Dible Companies, built Pinegate Apts, situated in a lovely meadow behind the K-Mart store documented here:

A year later, in 1986, I worked PT at Pinegate, as the evening clubhouse attendant, alternating nights with my friend Wayne. Everything was dark blue, with chrome and glass coffee tables, etc. We did light cleaning, then just pretty much watched over the place, making sure underage kids didn't use the Nautilus weight machines, or that people didn't drink alcohol in the hot tub, pass out, and drown.
It was quite fun to tour the property, Spring 2010, and see it updated. The leasing agent on duty was such a sweet lady, and fortunately not busy with a lot of walk-in traffic that day. Now I have located some original 1986 photos, taken with my 110 Insta-matic, no doubt, and scanned for comparison.
