The Marin Sunday Farmer's Market offers a link between farmers and the greater, diverse community of eaters while fostering a mutual interdependence that creates direct opportunities for all stakeholders to engage as active participants in growing healthy and resilient local family farms, artisans and communities. Farmers' Markets are places centered around farmers whose livelihood is based on biodiversity and a sense of place in nature. This shared space and experience offers an opportunity for community members to collectively create a sense of place while benefiting the economic, social and cultural landscape.
The Market's shared open-air public space offers spontaneous opportunities to enjoy and participate in the community's diverse cultural life through food, flowers, art and live music. Engaging in the shared creative experience of shaping deeply felt values into meaningful forms of expression creates a sense of communal well-being that is an integral, living cultural heritage and a timeless tradition of the human community.
