East Meets West

Former East Coast mk4's on the down through at Rhyl, running as 3J89 Crewe-Holyhead crew training run behind 67008 on 12 February 2020.

Skip 8 has been a notoriously rare bugger along the coast, but as one of the six class 67's to be modified to work the door interlock system on the mk4's, that rare status will soon be at an end.

The additional jumper socket for that system is to the right of the centrally mounted jumper socket for multiple working that the locomotives have carried from new.

The train was scheduled to call at Rhyl but ran through on the centre road which makes me wonder if there is an as yet unresolved issue with the down loop and mk4 stock.

The train was scheduled to run next day as well, but never made it out of the carriage sidings at Holyhead.
