Jesus Malverde, Santo de Traficantes
In the capital of the Mexican state of Sinaloa, Culiacan, there is a small Capilla(chapel) dedicated to this uniquely Mexican saint. There are many stories about Malverde, and many Corridos(Norteno ballads) about him, although some think him to be a myth along the lines of Robin Hood. Many Mafioso in Mexico make offerings at the Capilla, in order to insure good shipments or to perhaps ask for heavenly protection from bullets. I picked up this placa in a Mexican music store in Burien Washington.
