1350 Distilling
Colorado Springs, CO - The smiling man on the top left of the collage is Phill, he is one of the owners of 1350 Distilling located in Colorado Springs; he's happy, loud and has a vice-grip of an handshake. The bartender on the lower right is Phill's wife Kandis, she makes a fantastic Old Fashioned.
Phill is a veteran who served over 20 years in the Marine Corps. He turned is love of distilling into a business of his own. It was a pleasure interviewing him and his wife hearing their story how they built their business to what it is today. The building used to be an auto repair shop and the bar was built by Phill and his brother. I really like their Vodka even though it's not typically my kind of spirit.
The custom made brass distilling tank is in shape of an artillery shell, that wasn't by accident. Because well, Marines!
If you are in town I highly recommend a visit.
