Moon shot

I bought one of those goofy 500mm f/8 lenses - the long refractor type, not the short mirror type. Mine's branded "Phoenix", but there are several other brands for what I think's the same actual product.

 

It's not easy to use for normal photography, but it let my 20D lay about 700 reasonably sharp pixels across the moon, which ain't bad for $US75 if you ask me.
