the White Rose Movement Taiwan 白玫瑰運動

"the White Rose Movement Taiwan" staged a demonstration on Ketagalan Boulevard to calls for a revision of law that can provide better protection against sexual assault for children and people with disabilities. The move was first initiated by Internet users who were upset about a court verdict last month (August 2010) that gave a man accused of molesting a six-year-old girl a three-year prison sentence, based on the explanation that the girl did not explicitly express objection.

President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) has heard the call of the White Rose Movement and is urging swift passage of a draft bill to regulate the certification, performance and ethics of judges, the Presidential Office said in a statement issued yesterday.
