The whole hike out there, the sea is on your right, down below 40-50 foot cliffs of lava . . . relentlessly pounding against the fresh rock . . . and occassionally sweeping big chunks away with it. It's wise, as the sign suggests, not to be on the rock that the ocean decides to elope with that day.
