Jewish Penicillin

This is an old family recipe and a real taste of my childhood. It was always the "go to" meal when we were feeling ill and needed a pick me up.

 

Recipe as I make it is a little quick, and slightly "bucket" chemistry in terms of not really measuring quantities. I use stock cubes too, which is probably bad :)

 

So:

 

fry a diced onion (or a leek)

add chopped chicken..

add chicken stock - at least 2 pints

lots of black pepper

Add one or two sliced carrots.

leave to simmer for an hour or so

 

Thats about it.

 

Cook noodles (I like italian vermicelli) separately.. put a massive dollop of noodles into a bowl and spoon the soup on top.
