Reassurance
For 142 years this lighthouse has given mariners’ the reassurance, comfort, encouragement, hope and faith as they have sailed along North Carolina’s hazardous outer Banks. A beacon that can be seen over twenty miles to sea and can be identified by sight, day or night to aid in giving the crew a location of where along the coast they are. By day the white and black bands identify the lighthouse, and at night the interval between flashes of light identifies which light house is being viewed…image captured 5/9/2014
