Dan Triplett Photography
Cades Cove Road - The Great Smoky Mountains
Shot during the "Blue Hour", but much darker due to location topography (surrounded by mountains).
Two F/5.6 exposures tonemapped with Photomatix - one 62 sec, one 4 sec.
I got lucky on the third exposure when 2 trucks passsed each other - you can see where the oncoming truck flashed his bright lights at the end of the tunnel.
The third 25 sec F/5.6 exposure was layered using the "lighter color" blend mode in Photoshop CS4.
This blend enabled just the headlights to show through and allowed the HDRI underneath to remain untouched. Experimenting with different blend modes has opened up some new ideas and opportunities.
I've been using a guide called "Photoshop Focus Guide, 200 Photo Editing Secrets" I picked up the other day from Barnes and Noble.
