Light Strikes
Wa-BAM!! Gotcha.
So this isn't my first time capturing lighting, but it was my first time sitting outside, watching the storm roll in from afar. That turned out to be a little scary, ultimately, what drove me back inside and ending my photo session.
Shooting lighting takes patience, especially when I didn't bring my tripod! I laid on the rocks, firmly pressing my camera to the ground with one hand (to reduce vibration), and holding down the shutter-release with the other (I also didn't bring my remote!). I once again learned it's possible to shoot without all the fancy gear.
For those spiritual folks out there, I'll add... For some reason, as soon as I got to the rocks, there was no more lightning. I patiently sat waiting, but nothing. So I thought I'd tried saying The Divine Light Invocation to see how that might effect things. As I got to the phrase "I am surrounded by Divine Light." Wa-BAAAMM!! Coincidence? Perhaps, but it totally happened more than once. Divine intervention? Perhaps, but really, why even ask the question. ;)
