This photo shows the Wittringen Castle or Wittringen House (Schloss Wittringen or Haus Wittringen) is a moated castle in Gladbeck, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
But the Thirty Years' War did not pass Wittringen without a trace - In 1642 it was pillaged by Hessian mercenaries and was completely destroyed. Afterwards, however, the arrangement was rebuilt about 1650. Besides, the 2-storied mansion originated on the west side of the precastle island. The mansion served meanwhile the Rentmeister, a fiscal authority, as a flat.
