Jimmy of Promise Divine delivers the goods @ Peppfest 2011, Haninge, Sweden.

 

My good friends Promise Divine was on the bill for the entire Swedish edition of the Atticus Invasion Tour this year. It so happens that I happened to be in town when they played their final show and since it also happened to take place out in the suburb where I grew up I figured that it would be an odd experience - after all, I rarely go out there these days.

 

I should´ve figured out that I was going to be the oldest dude on the scene. Hanging out behind a dumpster in the parking lot, tossing beer before the show with my good friend Tomas instantly threw me back in time. Walking inside the venue my first impression of the whole thing was how professional everything appeared to have been set up. Bands where the members couldn´t have hit 18 yet had merch tables set up and played a stage with an expensive rental light rig. We´re talking lasers and smoke machines and shit. I remember going to shows as a kid and well... it was nothing like this.

 

Was I bitter?

No, the only thing I could think was that it must be awesome to be a kid today.

 

Promise Divine put up a good show as always and I managed to snap a couple of good ones, this is definitely my favourite of the bunch. And Jimmy, I´m sorry for creeping you out and lurking about in the shadows behind your back. But it sure was worth it, right?
