Floating.

The Dead Sea is sometimes referred to as the saltiest lake in the world. This is not true, there are other with higher salinity, but it is still a very weird feeling to go for a swim here. In short - it is impossible to sink and swimming in the ordinary sense is tough since your legs keep on floating up to the surface.

Salt levels are about 8.6 times higher than in the ocean. And yes, the water tastes like crap. It´s strange to see large chunks of salt lying around everywhere and while walking out in the water, the thick layer of salt covering the sand below crack under your feet.

In the background you barely can make out the shores of Palestine.

And yes, I do look like a full fledged dork in this picture.
