Downtown Amman.
The center of Amman is also the home of the very few attractions in the city. It´s charming in a very worn down, very Arabic kind of way. But I would lie to you if I claimed that Amman is a pretty city. In fact, it´s one of the ugliest places I´ve ever visited. The western parts are currently seeing a major overhaul with bland modern shopping malls popping up like fungus. These areas probably will attract the typical western tourist but they all lack one thing - character.
