"This Is My Sundown"
Hanging out on top of the Shwesandaw Paya in Bagan, Burma.
After having shared a taxi with the two Australians we met at the aiport (it turned out that we were staying at the very same hotel) we dropped our bags at the hotel and went out for a walk. Stumbling into what may have been the oldest horse on earth and his driver, whose name sadly slips my mind at the moment, we decided to make the most of our time in Bagan and paid the dude to drive us around a bit. He drove us to a couple of payas in and around Old Bagan and we quickly learned that:
1) The horse was named MoMo.
2) The driver didn´t own him but had worked with him for many years.
3) The guy owning Momo also owned a couple of other horses and carts as well as two regular taxis (a big shot I presume).
4) Momo was awesome...
5)...but not exactly lightning fast.
But at least we made it to the amazing Shwesandaw Paya just in time for sundown. Awesome MoMo.
