Getting cleaned up, Karakum desert, Turkmenistan.
After a couple of days away from the hustle and bustle in the Potemkin village of Ashgabat I clearly sobered up when noticing how our driver all of a sudden started to clean the car during every pit stop we made. The reason for this is that cars driving the streets of the white marble city of Ashgabat have to be clean and presentable. If not you´ll get fined. Yet another small crack in the "hey-everything´s-pretty-cool-here-obviously-all-the-fuzz-about-this-not-being-your-typical-modern-city-is-complete-bullshit"-facade.
