"It´s My Life"
I remember when I was a kid visiting what barely a year earlier had been communist East Berlin. One of the strongest memories I have is that of "Dr. Alban" being scribbled on the door of a tram. Apparently the former dentist gone euro-techno star was the big thing in the once isolated country of East Germany.
Imagine my surprise when our driver on the way back to Ashgabat points at the stereo, asks "music?" and åulls out a cassette with none other than Dr. Alban. As it later turned out we heard his stuff on the radio more than once during the trip. So, if you´re in a band that plays crappy techno music with that fresh early 90´s feel Turkmenistan should be right up your alley.
